Proposal #230 description

Executive Summary

We propose a comprehensive revamp of the Akash.Network website to enhance user experience, code quality, implement new pages and aesthetics. The current website, built with Hugo and outdated CSS, suffers from poor code quality and user experience which results in lot of complexity in new upgrades and scalability. Our solution involves transitioning to Astro.Build and Tailwind CSS for a modern, efficient website.

Issues & Challenges

The current website faces several issues:

  1. Code Quality: The codebase lacks readability and may have security vulnerabilities.
  2. Responsiveness & Design: The outdated design affects user experience.
  3. Content & Navigation: Broken links and poor navigation frustrate visitors.

Role of a High-Quality Website

A revamped website plays a crucial role in the Akash ecosystem:

  • User Engagement & Credibility: It captures visitors' attention, encourages exploration, and fosters trust.
  • Effective Communication: It serves as a primary channel to communicate Akash's mission, services, and success stories.
  • Community & Contributor Attraction: It attracts contributors and community members, leading to ecosystem growth.
  • SEO & Discoverability: It improves search engine rankings, helping Akash reach a wider audience.
  • Innovation & Adoption: It reflects innovation and adoption of cutting-edge technologies, attracting like-minded partners and projects.

Why Astro + Tailwind CSS?

Astro offers several advantages over Hugo:

  • Performance: Faster page load speed and lower Time to First Byte (TTFB).
  • Build Speed: Quicker build times due to an intuitive component-based approach.
  • Ease of Use: It leads to a 30% reduction in development time compared to Hugo.
